We are beginning to celebrate Second Church’s 175th anniversary based on the date of 1847. Ideas have been trickling in as to ways we can recognize the many years we have been a beacon of light in Palmer.
Some of the ideas have been to use recipes from the cookbooks which have been assembled in past years and serve the results at Fellowship Hours or possibly a potluck lunch/dinner. Playing, performing and singing songs from past anniversary celebrations or special Sunday services has also been suggested. Other ideas include organizing an open house at which we would display many of our photos, newspaper clippings, and other historical mementos, and possibly opening up our cornerstone to reveal the hidden treasures left there by our church family ancestors. You may also begin reading in the Arrow writings and excerpts from some of the documents we have gathered.
If anyone has any other ideas or memories they would like to share for consideration, please contact Beth Zelazo at 413-668-8092 or [email protected] There is no formal committee at this time however, our Executive Council will need to review and discuss any ideas going forward.
