New Interim Minister Hired for Second Congregational

It is our pleasure to announce the hiring of our Interim Minister, Reverend James Lumsden, beginning February 1, 2024. Through the work of Second Congregational’s Interim Search Committee and the Northwestern Regional Council of the UCC, Reverend James has been appointed to guide us through this transitional period as we search for a new Settled Pastor.

Reverend James brings with him a wealth of experience, having served as Settled Pastor, Interim, and Bridge Pastor at many churches throughout the country during his 40+ year career. He is a compassionate and capable leader committed to supporting and guiding us during this time. Reverend James will be working a 30-hour schedule with 3 days on-site at the church, Sunday, Monday, and Thursday each week.

We are fortunate to have Reverend James with us and know he is eager to get to know each one of you. Please join me in welcoming him to our church family and the community.

Please also join us on Sunday, January 28th for Pastor Deb Shepard’s last service at SCC.  We are so very grateful for all of the love and support she has given to Second Congregational over the last 18 months.
