In Massachusetts, public funding for the arts, humanities, and sciences is provided through a central state agency, the Mass Cultural Council and through a network of Local Cultural Councils that serve every city and town in the state. The LCC’s receive money to support programs from donations, fundraising events and their local municipality. They also receive funding from the Massachusetts Legislature and the National Endowments for the Arts. The Palmer Cultural Council receives grant applications from individuals and organizations that want to present their programs, talents and offerings to Palmer residents. Each local council must conduct annual assessments of cultural needs within its community. This year, the Palmer Cultural Council has created an on line survey and hard copy survey. This is your opportunity to let the PCC hear your ideas of what types of community programs promoting the arts, humanities and sciences you would like us to support. You can complete the on line survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TDN96XB. Hard copies are available at the Palmer Public Library. Thank you for investing in Palmer and supporting your Palmer Cultural Council.
