Sunday School

The most important lesson we seek to teach in Sunday School is that our children are loved, both by God and by this church.

Our Sunday School starts in worship at 10AM on Sunday morning. After that, which is about 15 minutes into worship, the children are dismissed from the sanctuary to attend their classes next door in the Church House, where our classrooms are located.

Weekly Sunday morning classes are based on scripture with interactive and age-appropriate lessons. The teachers use games, songs, crafts, drama and conversations that help discover and deepen our children’s faith.

We encourage time together and will schedule occasional Sunday afternoon hayrides and hikes with older youth mentoring the young.

Classes are for children from preschool to 8th grade and take place every other Sunday from September until May. Adult teachers are assisted by high school youth (Shepherds) and use a curriculum that emphasizes the importance of God’s love and of loving others.

There are occasional “Family Sundays” to allow families to sit together in worship as well as to allow teachers and Shepherds to attend worship.

Our Sunday School operates under the support and guidance of our Christian Education Committee.
