The paper bag lunch, praise and pie meeting of Women’s Fellowship was well attended and well received. Chatting amongst ourselves while eating our lunches resulted in a relaxing exchange of conversation in which we learned more about each other. After a regular business meeting during which we discussed two possible early Fall fundraisers, the main event was sampling Swedish apple pie, strawberry rhubarb pie, Concord grape pie and the surprise pie of Pastor Bruce’s triple chocolate pie! It was hard to pick a favorite since they were all very good.
Eating does do a body good and we shared those things in our life for which we wanted to give praise to God. There was praise for pie makers, new granddaughter Penny, new great-granddaughter Ariana, granddaughter graduating from the nursing program at STCC, granddaughter hired as town manager in Barre, rain and warmer weather to help our plants, gardens and flowers grow, devoted church members who have kept the church going during COVID, medical technology for repairing a knee, final exams almost completed, upcoming December wedding and the hiring of an assistant to help at work.
All women, whether a member of Second Congregational Church or not, are welcome to attend the Women’s Fellowship gatherings and meetings. Watch for the next meeting date and program in future Arrows. Praise God for our office staff and volunteers who produceand distribute our Arrow.
