From Your Stewardship Committee

A.A. Milne’s “EEYORE” was sitting on the hillside beside his friend Piglet. Piglet turns toward Eeyore asking “Eeyore, why do you look at the sun with such sadness in your eyes?” Eeyore responds, “I just want to make sure the sun goes down.” After the sun sets, Eeyore stands up and slowly begins to walk away. Piglet asks, “Where are you going Eeyore?” “I am going to the other side of the valley. “Why” asked Piglet. Eeyore responded, “I want to make sure the sun comes up.”

In troubling times, do you wonder if the sun will rise or set?

Perhaps, Jesus thought his disciples were having similar thoughts of impending disaster. Prior to eating their last meal together, Jesus told his apostles that the bread and the wine they were about to eat were his body and blood and that whenever they ate this meal, they were to remember him. For over two thou-sand years, Christians have shared this sacred meal. We pray and put our trust in the Lord….the sun will rise tomorrow.

The theme for the 2023 Stewardship Campaign is “From Bread and Cup to Faith and Giving.” During the next few weeks, prayerfully reflect on how to respond to God’s call to share your resources.

God has blessed you with much. Please consider this thought when sharing a portion of your blessings with your church. Thank you and God Bless You.
