Palm Sunday worship and Sunday school will be at 10 a.m.
On Maundy Thursday (March 29), we will commemorate the Last Supper with Holy Communion and our Service of Tenebrae. The Service of Tenebrae involves gradually extinguishing candles until the sanctuary is completely dark, reflecting the sadness and despair of the Crucifixion for the followers of Jesus. There will be special music by the Chancel Choir as well as a soloist.
On Good Friday, the sanctuary will be open from noon to 3 p.m. for personal prayer, meditation and reflection. Booklets of readings will be provided, and the story of the Passion of Christ will be read in segments from 12 to 12:30 by the pastor.
Easter Sunday starts with our Sunrise Service at 6 a.m. Weather permitting; it will be on a piece of land overlooking Palmer that we access from Longview Ave. In the event of inclement weather, we will gather at the church. A free breakfast at the church will follow at 6:45. [Directions: from Main St., turn onto Squier St. Got to 4th left and turn onto Longview. Proceed past STOP sign at Buckland and ho up the next hill. Entrance into woods is on the left, directly across from the driveway of 92 Longview (gray house with black shutters, number on porch post). From Shearer St., turn onto Longview, go up the hill, and entrance into woods is on the right, across from 92 Longview.]
Easter Sunday worship at the regular 10 a.m. time will include very uplifting music by the English Handbell Choir as well as the Chancel Choir. Holy Communion will be served. Please come and celebrate the Resurrection!
